Beth Perry
Beth Perry is an artist working within an expanded painting practice. She explores how processes of repetition reveal notions of time, where the accumulation of gestures allows small deviations to occur. Cutting along seams or following existing patterns of second-hand garments, Perry references the proportions and presence of the body. By working with what is given, she embraces constraint as a generative force, opening space for new forms to emerge. Her work reimagines the grid as a site of gathering, becoming and slippage, where material and gesture entwine to create meaning.
