Aislinn Connolly

Aislinn Connolly's practice-led research explores magic in contemporary art. She approaches this topic as a collection of concepts and practices that do not conform to the dominant framework of rationalism. She uses this as a platform to create paintings that navigate alternative cosmologies. The figuration in these works are adapted from tarot cards and engage with a form of semiotics that sit outside the rational framework. Connolly holds a BFA in Painting from the National Art School (2023). She was awarded the Mark Henry Cain Memorial Travel Scholarship (2023) and the Parkers Sydney Fine Art Drawing Award (2023).
